Sapphire hyper-hemispherical dome is an advanced variation of a hemispherical dome made from sapphire. While a traditional hemispherical dome has a semi-spherical shape, a hyper-hemispherical dome extends beyond the typical hemisphere shape, often with a higher curvature or a more pronounced bulge.
These hyper-hemispherical domes are engineered for specific optical or protective purposes, where a greater degree of curvature or a more pronounced shape is beneficial. They may be used in applications requiring enhanced optical performance, such as in advanced imaging systems, sensors, or scientific instruments.
The use of sapphire in hyper-hemispherical domes provides the same benefits as in traditional hemispherical domes, including exceptional hardness, optical clarity, and resistance to scratching and corrosion. This makes sapphire an excellent material choice for demanding applications where durability and optical performance are critical.
Hyper-hemispherical sapphire dome that permits infrared (IR) and short-wave IR (SWIR) 360-degree full viewing. Designed to protect cameras, sensors, and detectors in harsh environments, it provides up to 85% transmission uncoated in the UV to IR.
We have rich experience in manufacturing custom optical sapphire domes. We can produce a variety of custom sapphire domes, including sapphire hemispherical domes, sapphire hyper-hemispherical domes, kerfs sapphire domes, spherical sapphire domes, aspheric sapphire domes, sapphire domes (Sapphire fairing radome), U-shape sapphire domes, conformal sapphire domes, and special–shaped sapphire hyper-hemisphere dome.
The diameter of Blue Box optics custom sapphire domes can be manufactured up to Φ390mm.
